I was in my local dealership this morning and overheard a conversation between service receptionist and a customer who has an intermittent fault on a car 'covered' by extended warranty. She told him that if they can't find the intermittent fault, or the fault is not covered by the extended warranty, there will be a charge of £144 per hour for labour. How the hell can any garage justify that sort of labour cost? I'd be surprised if even 10% of that actually goes to the mechanic's wages. I know there are overheads too, but that is extracting the urine. At least I know where to avoid for any work once the warranty expires.
