I have to replace my airbag on my 2015 Pulsar. The steering wheel airbag needs replacement due to a problem with it under service. They told me it would cost quite a bit, so I was looking on doing it myself. I saw on You Tube some videos and it seems fairly simple. I have an extra airbag from a local seller. The thing is there are no videos for the Pulsar. It seems the same as the Quasqai or others with this steering wheel, but the hole for inserting the screwdriver is kind of blocked - as shown in the photos attached. Any ideas ? Normally it should be an open hole.
Thank you

Replacing steering wheel airbag
I don't believe you can replace an airbag yourself, at least not safely. An explosive is used to fire the airbag so if you do set it off accidentally you could do yourself serious damage. I'm certainly no expert but was watching a TV programme where they do up cars and they said it required a specialist and they wouldn't even remove the cover from a steering wheel fitted with an air bag.
hi, I am pretty sure that the pulsar has the same steering wheel as the Qashqai, its a bit of a parts bin car, and most of it apart from the body is Qashqai, your holes in the steering wheel might have small plugs in that you will need to remove first. I think its the old frightner "leave for the specialist" crap when they'll charge you a fortune for an easy job. I did my last car which was a Hyundai santa fe, it was dead straight forward.
160 euro is a rip off even if it is a specialist job. My 'source' wasn't somebody who is generally inclined to say it's a specialist job, or try to frighten people off from DIY jobs. Most of the time they are encouraging people to do jobs themselves.
I am noticing where I live that ASO service is more and more expensive or even a complete scam. I am no way paying this amount . The YouTube video shows it’s a 15 minute job, once the clips are detached. I’ll let you know, hopefully with not an airbag in my face
