I have a 1.2 petrol automatic Pulsar. The stop/start failed completely for 2 months last year and then functioned normally just before a service. It's a bit hit or miss, but shifting to neutral (with foot hard on footbrake) sometimes stops the engine which always starts as soon as pressure on footbr...

You did compare like for like and enjoyed a major improvement in fuel economy. I did better the brochure mpg figures in my 3 diesel cars so it is possible, When I bought the Pulsar I hoped for something about 10% below the official combined mpg hence my disappointment at the 20% drop. Were your fuel consumption figures based on the trip computer or tank to tank fill ups? I reckon the trip computer is optimistic by about 3mpg. I have 1.2 petrol Xtronic (Automatic) Pulsar Tekna bought new in April 2016. I am disappointed at the approx. 46mpg (tank to tank fill ups) over 19000 miles...
